Here's some information on Amber's behavior and health so far, she is currently 9 months old, we brought her back when she was 3 months old.
Amber is 9 months + 12 days old
Amber is going to be 1 year old soon!
With us for 6 months
Can't believe she is already adult in body, but she is still a puppy inside.
Loves cheese, peanut butter, heartgard, twistix
She eats a lot of different treats, but she'd go crazy for these!
Has some skin problem nowadays
Flaky skin, called vet and said it might be seasonal, to be monitored till she is 1 year old, i tried to ask about allergy blood test but they said it is usually the last resort to send blood overseas for test, cost $300+, we are going to buy another type of meat for kibbles, she is currently eating salmon.
Very playful
Amber is very playful in nature like all poodles, it is very hard to train her not to jump and get super excited.
Bad characteristics
Short attention span, likes to test our limits, do not like to listen even with strict behavior control. We couldn't imagine how bad it is if we didn't teach her since puppy stage.
Poo-ing outside pee tray, during walks
She is starting to get naughty again, due to dogs which sometimes have the tendency to test the owner's limits, she wants to know what would happen if she did something wrong, we punish her accordingly, but we might just let her poo during walks since there is nothing wrong, just that she is doing it on her own accord.
Snap
Like all dogs, Amber would snap if at her limits, once in a while i would test how far she could go before she gets snappy (of course when she does something wrong!), this is to let her become neutral to any uncomfortable situation in future, we do not want her to bite even when threatened, it is best for her to retreat if she feels threatened instead.
Learnt a lot of words/commands
Sit, wait, down, go back, fetch, cross, crawl, lie, roll, up, no, good, naughty girl, come, off.
Loves humans, less for dogs
Gets real excited when she sees other humans, this might be because people always look down to her and starts playing with her even when she is not calm.
Likes to jump up on strangers, getting lesser now
Always jumping on strangers, its similar to the note above, we are trying our best to teach her but because strangers are always saying its okay and thinking we are the bad guys when we scold Amber, it will take some time.
Did not eat treats when outside, is getting better though
She didn't want any of her favorite treats when we bring her out, this is because outside is much more interesting, however we changes this behavior by giving her treats to somewhere she always goes, like our corridor, followed by void deck, and slowly further, it is working.
Learning to come when called whenever she is outside
Amber knows "come", but whenever she is outside, she tends to ignore the command, this is because of the noisy environment as well as moving stuff outside that attracts her attention more than my voice, i would be using treats for this to let her know that every time she comes she will get a treat.
Knows how to play all of the obstacles at Nex Playground(with leash on)
She is able to jump quite high for her size, and also playing everything when asked to, we even brought her to the large dog section and she is pretty fine with them! The hardest part is the tunnel, which sometimes she wouldn't dare to go through, but still does after awhile.
Eating lesser of TOTW kibbles (we are changing flavors soon)
Amber is not finisher her TOTW Salmon, we are going to change to Lamb flavor soon!
Sits whenever i stop during walks
Amber has learned to sit whenever i stop walking, this is a good sign it shows that she is still learning, only thing is sometimes she just stands up after sitting.
